Here’s Why You Should Start Exercising In the Morning

If you are not a morning person then working out in the morning before heading to the office can seem like a daunting task. Why not just work out at night after getting home from work? Or heading to the gym during your lunch break? Experts have found that the most beneficial time to work out is in the morning so let’s look at why this is true.


1: Feel accomplished

You may not accomplish anything else the rest of the day but if you have gotten in a great workout session first thing in the morning then you have already accomplished something amazing.

Maybe this has to do with accomplishing so much first thing in the morning before the rest of your day gets started but people that exercise in the morning have been shown to have a much higher productivity level than those of us that work out later in the day.


3: Less stressed when you get to work

A good workout will release endorphins that increase your mood and lower stress levels so getting in some exercise in the morning before heading to the office will put you in a great mood and with a low stress level when you get there. Start your day out the right way.

According to nutritionists, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and yet many of us skip breakfast for many reasons. Maybe you aren’t hungry or you just don’t have the time to eat in the morning because you are rushing off to work. So, the bonus of working out in the morning is that you will be hungry and you will want to eat breakfast.

Scientific studies have shown that working out in the morning before eating helps you to burn up to twenty percent more fat than if you work out later during the day after consuming food. The important note here is that you need to eat after your workout and not wait until lunch to eat. Complete your workout, shower and get ready for your day, then sit down to a nutritious breakfast in order to get your day going in a positive mode.


6: Boost your metabolism

As we age, our metabolism slows down so finding ways to boost your metabolism will help to maintain your weight or drop those few pounds that you have been trying to get rid of. Working out first thing in the morning boosts your metabolism so you will naturally burn more calories during the day rather than if you did a workout at night and then went to sleep.


7: Spend more time with friends

If you work out in the morning then you have a ton of free time after you leave the office. Use this newly found free time to spend time with friends, catch up on a hobby you haven’t had time for, or curl up with a great book to get lost in an adventure.
